Administrative Assistants were featured in "Spotlight on the Schools" article in the April 24, 2025, E-Edition of The Independent Herald on pages 22 & 23.

The last Wednesday in April is Administrative Professionals’ Day nationwide. The Scott County School System would like to recognize the administrative professionals at the Central Office and each of the system’s schools.

Every successful school has its foundation built not only by teachers and principals but also by the dedicated individuals who keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Among these essential team members are our school system’s administrative assistants.

Often the first face seen when entering the school, administrative assistants are the welcoming committee, the problem solvers, and the communication hub for students, staff, and families alike. They juggle dozens of responsibilities daily with grace and professionalism, from answering phones and managing attendance to coordinating substitute teachers and keeping school records in order.

But their impact goes far beyond paperwork and scheduling. They are crucial in fostering a positive and efficient school culture. They are the ones who calm anxious students, assist parents with questions or concerns, and offer steady support to teachers and staff. Whether it’s organizing events, managing emergencies, they are always ready and willing to step in and help.

“We are so grateful for their great effort and positive attitude that helps keep our offices running smoothly every day,” Supervisor of Instruction Linda Keaton said. “They help us do our best work. We would like to thank them for all they do!
