Linda Sharp retires after representing the Third District on the Scott County School Board for eight years.
Linda's first retirement came after forty-four years in a wide range of educational positions which included Special Education Director,
Assistant Principal, Principal, and Teacher in three different counties: Scott, Morgan and Unicoi.
Her favorite position was teaching which included a variety of subjects and age levels: elementary, high school, college, and adult education classes. She considers it a blessing to have been a small part of all the students’ lives, and a special blessing to have had the opportunity to be the first teacher for Physically Handicapped children in Scott County.
She said, "It has also been an honor to work with All the caring people involved in the Scott County Schools that has made it possible for the children to learn together and play together in a safe environment. I believe putting children first is a commitment that will lead to future success for all of us.
Linda decided to retire as a Board member so she could spend more time with her family, especially her grandchildren: Myah daughter of Jackson and Dee-Dee Sharp, and Kyra, Arabelle, and Alex children of Brandon and Delenia Wray.
