As I’m sure most of you have been seeing on the news and social media, TCAP results are in for the third grade reading assessment. If you have been following the state legislature, you’ll know that third graders who scored below passing on the test were facing possible retention, mandatory summer school, and a few other remediation options – all of which were scary realities to face for our students and our third grade teachers. I am absolutely thrilled to announce that at Fairview Elementary School, 69% of our third graders passed the Reading TCAP Test! THIS ACHIEVEMENT PERCENTAGE PLACES OUR SCHOOL FIRST IN THE SCOTT COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM, AND FAR EXCEEDS THE STATE AVERAGE!!! Mrs. Shona Lowe has worked so hard this year with each and every third grader, and all of those efforts have officially paid off!
Mrs. Teresa Lay Boshears had three students who scored PERFECT scores on their math TCAP test! This is an unbelievable accomplishment and we couldn’t be more proud of these three and so very thankful for Mrs. Teresa! She also had several other students with nearly perfect scores, as well!
Great things are happening at FES, and this is only the beginning of more amazing news to come!
