The Scott County Board of Education is made up of one elected representative from each of the county’s seven voting districts. Board members serve four-year terms, with elections taking place every two years.

The representatives from Districts 2, 3, and 6 are currently serving terms from 2024–2028. Representatives from Districts 1, 4, 5, and 7 began their terms in 2026 and will serve through 2030.

The Scott County Board of Education is currently a Tennessee School Boards Association "Board of Distinction." This designation recognizes outstanding performance by a school board for their work.
