Safety Response Plan
The district safety response plan is available for review at the Board of Education building at 208 Court Street, Huntsville TN during normal business hours.
Management Plan Availability
- Prior to July 1989, the Scott County Board of Education submitted a Management Plan to the Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration.
- The Management Plan details all areas where asbestos containing materials are present in the Scott County Schools and the manner in which the materials will be handled.
- The Management Plan will be available to the public for review at the administration office. Viewing time will be 8:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. (Local time) Monday through Friday.
- The Management Plan will be updated every six months beginning July 9, 1989, with progress reports being submitted to the state annually.

Compliance with AHERA Management Plan Annual Notification Requirement
- On October 22, 1986, President Reagan signed into law the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), which required the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to promulgate the final rules that all public and private schools develop a new Asbestos Management plan and submit it to Governor McWherter, or his designee by October of 1988.
- We are pleased to inform you that Scott County Schools has complied with all aspects of this regulation.
- The Management Plan, which includes previous asbestos abatement projects, six months surveillance reports, the location and condition of the remaining asbestos containing materials in our buildings, as well as the response action chosen for each, is available for your review at the following location:
